Cisco Express Foundation Design Specialist (EFD)
Designed exclusively for Channel Partners, the Cisco Express Foundation Design Specialist develops network planning and design skills for customers that would typically be required of a pre-sales or system engineer. The Design Specialist demonstrates fundamental understanding of the IP networks, routing and switching concepts, and the basic steps required to incorporate wireless and security technologies in the IP Network. The Cisco Express Foundation Design Specialist can effectively assess customer needs, as well as design and sell converged network solutions. This includes application of Cisco-verified best practices for these tasks and use of the various job aids and tools provided to facilitate successful network design and future growth potential.
Prerequisites
Valid CCDA certification or any CCIE Certification can act as a pre-requisite.
Exams

Recertification
Complete one of the following recertification options every two years:
- Re-take and pass all exams for each Specialist certification indicated on the specific certification page. Please note: this includes ALL exams whether refreshed or not.
- Pass a current CCIE or CCDE written exam
Achieving or recertifying CCDE or any CCIE automatically extends your active Specialist certification(s) up to the point of expiration of the last certification achieved.
