The Deploying, Operating and Maintaining Video End (DDOMVEOT201) course is designed to provide in depth, theoretical and practical instruction for endpoint video teleconferencing specialists and users who will be installing and maintaining Polycom Group Series and HDX video endpoints

This course provides field-ready skills and operational ability for field engineers, sales engineers, helpdesk support teams, solution designers and system administrators, responsible for deploying and supporting Polycom Group Series and HDX video endpoint solutions.

On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Explain typical video conferencing techniques and protocols
  • Install, configure and operate Group Series videoconferencing systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain Group Series videoconferencing systems

MODULE 1 – VIDEO CONFERENCING

  • Explain standards and roles in videoconferencing
  • The role and functionality of codecs
  • Describe audio and video compression protocols and associated features

MODULE 2 – HIGH DEFINITION PRIMER

  • Explain the different HD video techniques and resolutions
  • Describe HD video conferencing requirements

MODULE 3 – POLYCOM ENDPOINT PRODUCT LINE

  • HDX products
  • RealPresence Group Series
  • RealPresence Desktop and mobile series

MODULE 4 – PROTOCOLS & NETWORKING

  • HDX & RealPresence group series remote controls
  • Content sharing (H.239)
  • Multipoint plus conferencing (internal and external MCU)
  • Transcoding and encryption

MODULE 5 – INSTALLATION

  • Cable up and connect systems
  • Set up systems for networking
  • Follow and execute a typical location setup using Out of Box Set Up Wizard
  • Understand and use system setups, menus and settings
  • Gatekeeper/SIP registration

MODULE 6 – OPERATION

  • Placing and receiving calls to end point-to-point and multipoint systems
  • Operate camera, audio controls and video switching
  • Conduct multiple types of system integration (Hardware or Software integration)
  • Configure HDX and NAT/Firewall traversal

MODULE 7 – MAINTENANCE

  • Carry out diagnosis using system menus and remote management
  • Conduct software updates
  • Carry out preventative maintenance procedures

MODULE 8 – TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Identify issues and troubleshoot using tools like Putty and Telnet
  • Use procedures and tools on HDX and RealPresence Group Series to identify and rectify issues
